I tried burning an .ISO as a regular user.  It asked me to pick my burner from a pulldown list, but the list was empty and I couldn't write anything in it either.  OK, so I logged in as administrator.  This time I got this error message "Cannot complete the disk writing wizard" and that I should try a different CD, which I did but kept getting the same message.

I uninstalled E&B and was then able to use Windows (XP Home) Explorer's normal facilities for writing files to CD -- to the same CD that E&B rejected.  I re-installed E&B and was back to the same error message.  This was all under an administrator account.

I'm running Windows XP Home Ed., SP3 and I installed a MS KB... update that E&B asked for, something about media...

How can I get E&B to work?

Is there any addtional info on "Cannot complete the disc writing wizard"? Can you please post a screenshot of that page?

You should be able to use Windows Explorer's normal facilities for writing files to CD even with installed E&B. It is not interfere with native Windows burner.

Unfortunately I don't have Windows XP Home and have tested E&B only on Windows XP Pro. It would be great if you help me to fix this problem.

As a workaround to allow burning for regular users you may apply attached REG file to the registry. You need to reboot the computer for changes to take effect.

These changes will allow to burn discs for administrators and interactive users.

In next version of E&B I'll add the ability to change burning permissions in Windows XP during E&B installation.

Note: The attached REG file affects not only E&B but also native Windows XP burner and all the apps which use IMAPIv2 for burning.

This issue has been fixed in version 1.2 of E&B. The installer now allows to set burning permissions during installation.
