DEP consistently closes Explore&Burn. I opened the DEP setting dialog, but on selecting the executable, it returns that the program requires DEP to be turned on for it. I have uninstalled using Revo Uninstaller, and reinstalled a fresh download. Same result. Ideas?
I have just succesfully burned a couple of files with DEP turned on for all programs using E&B 1.2.1 on Windows 7 32-bit...
What OS and E&B version do you use?
P.S. Trying to add ExBurn.exe to the DEP exception list will not have any effect, because ExBurn.exe is an application stub, which simply shows you how to use Explore&Burn in Windows Explorer. The main executable file of the Explore&Burn is ExBurn.dll, which is a shell extension and loaded by explorer.exe.
DEP consistently closes Explore&Burn.
What is "DEP"?
Excerpt from Windows Help:
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature that can help prevent damage to your computer from viruses and other security threats. Harmful programs can try to attack Windows by attempting to run (also known as execute) code from your computer's memory reserved for Windowsand other authorized programs. These types of attacks can harm your programs and files.
DEP can help protect your computer by monitoring your programs to make sure that they use computer memory safely. If DEP notices a program on your computer using memory incorrectly, it closes the program and notifies you.
